Immigration
You are going to get stuck on this one. It comes off as outrageous, so I recommend coming back to it last. If all I've done is peak your interest, then read on but promise me you will continue through the other policies. Remember that if you are standing on the moon, boundaries on earth seem ridiculous.
For years we have debated about how to stop the flow of illegal immigrants coming to America from Mexico. It has been the most divisive political policy with the largest direct impact to human life. At the same time, Mexico has been unable to curb terrorism. Millions of dollars in support each year is wasted on corrupt politicians. With such a high risk neighbor, drastic measures are required.
I recommend we begin a campaign asking Mexico to join these United States and build our wall on their southern border. The United States gains additional land in an ideal climate as well as a hard working population looking to better their lives and pay taxes. The United States offers the full array of federal agencies to create a safe environment in every city, growth of solid infrastructure and public utilities as well as open commerce for U.S. companies to grow freely. Some things will change, such as teaching both English and Spanish in all elementary schools as well as the U.S. dollar becoming the only currency.
So, do we allow them to vote, will they take over the U.S political system? How can you let this happen? Change your perspective, they are now us with open borders and similar goals. We want a better life, and they want a better life. If you take other policies into consideration like the displacement of welfare and unemployment insurance onto non-profit charities, you see that we are building a unified hard-working country.
Lastly, this needs to be Mexico's national decision and cannot be taken by force. In my opinion, both countries win. Will it ever happen? No.
