Abortion & Adoption

Life is unique and precious.  Each individual you met for the first time has had unique experiences and perspectives that set them apart from every other individual.  These conversations and stories have covered the entire spectrum of human emotions from the despair of discussing addiction to the joy of a recent marriage.  When an individual is taken from us, we lose out on all of the laughter, inspiration, and affection future conversations may have led to.  The same is true for an unborn child.  They deserve a chance to live their story whatever it may be.  Unless the mother's life is at risk, every child should be born into this world.

Not every woman is ready for or wants children, which is why abortion is so prevalent.  I believe that early education, free prenatal care and contraceptives, health insurance that covers birth for every woman, improvements to the adoption process, and focus on charities specific to raising adoptable children makes the decision easier on expecting mothers.  Most adoptions are either processed through the foster system or privately between two parties.  Linking these parties early in the pregnancy can drastically reduce the demand on the foster system.  The adopting party agrees to pay medical bills related to the pregnancy as well as legal fees related to the adoption.  Once in the foster system, adoptions usually take a year to process, but at little to no cost.  When these options become part of the discussion, more children will experience the blessing of life.
